My brother claimed that they filmed this movie there and there is a plaque at the grenade ranger that had Pauly Shore and the rest of the cast's name on it.....is this true??

shareI've never been to Fort Sill. I went to Knox for my training. And then they sent me to Korea, and I'm heading to fort Riley in 3 months. And my MOS doesn't even go to Fort Sill. So I guess I will never know. But I remember when I was at Knox, my Drill Sergeants talked about the Bill Murray movie Stripes that was filmed at Knox. We did some combat drills in the old barracks they filmed the movie in.

Never schene any plaque at the grenade range while I was there, however that was in '98 a few years after the movie. May have been removed before then.

Yes they did. I was in the Army from 1993-1999. I served with a few who did Basic while they filmed this movie there. One guy I know said during off hour from filming, the actors would eat in the actual mess hall. One time Pauly Shore sat with them. But since they were recruits, they could not talk to him.
I went in 2000 but I went to FT Leonard Wood AKA FT Lost in the Woods. I did 4 yrs and 1 yr in Iraq

I went through Ft. Leonard Wood myself Summer of 1993 (A-2-10)
I was with A-82 Chemical, I did OSET, I was there for a long 6 months.

I was atFort Leonard Wood in the summer of 1993 myself, but I was just there for a few weeks before going to Korea. I did work in that big building where they processed recruits, though.
