- Drill sergeants are way meaner than that

- You can’t get out of a deployment by claiming you’re gay

- Females don’t sleep in same room or proximity as males

- Special Forces don’t wear military uniforms in war zones

- An M-16 is not an automatic weapon

Other than that, this movie hit the nail on the head in their representation of the Army. I am so often disgusted by Hollywood's lack of accurate portrayal of military life, but this movie was absolutely on the mark. I couldn't believe it. I thought they'd bastardize military life like so many military comedies do, but they really did their homework on this one. I'm impressed. And to think it would come from a Pauly Shore movie.

They are nicer nowadays
-you cant get out of deployment by claiming youre gay
Actually they kick you out for being gay
-SF dont wear uniforms in war zones
Depending on their mission and unit they wear civilian attire
-An M-16 is not an automatic weapon'
The M16A1 actually was an automatic
- Females don’t sleep in same room or proximity as males
They live in the same barracks, if not on the same room

Other than that you hit the nail on the head in your representation of the Army

i know what the second poster is right my family is military and my bros drill does tattoos, and sneaks them stuff while they arent on leave.
they just had a thing where if you're OPENLY gay youre out
im not 100% on the uniforms so i dunno, im not military myself
the m16a1 my friend! while i havent shot it before i have seen what that beast is capable of, i have shot a similar rifle but it was semi auto, for the life of me i cant remember the name of it, so gun enthusiasts forgive me and help out
im not 100% bout the women barracks situation, so i wont comment

So many people try to get out of the Army by claiming they are gay, the Army generally wants proof beyond just a claim.

so...do you have to have sex with a another dude while they watch, or what?

do they keep someone around for that purpose?

Went through basic at great lakes naval base in 1988. I say guys left by hopping in bed with another man. It does happen
