This and 'There Will Be Blood'

First off, what a great movie. Gary Oldman was amazing, the music is arguably the singular greatest artistic achievement mankind will ever hold, and the Austrian scenery puts the viewer right back to Beethoven's time. I was curious if anyone saw the similarities to "There Will Be Blood"? A determined, mentally unstable man takes a young boy into his fold and attempts to turn him into the embodiment of their respected fields. The young boy eventually resents the father figure, and runs away to separate from him. The father lashes out in a vitriol fueled dialogue (whilst they cannot hear themselves), unable to admit to himself that he loves and respects the man for finding his own path in the world. The original book "Oil", written in 1927 didnt touch on as many of these similarities as the film does, and I was wondering if anyone else thought this also? Both the main actors are indistinguishably amazing, and carry enough pathos that the viewer pities, and envies their drive. Thanks for listening to my rant.
