Would this make a good gift for my daughter who loved Amadeus?


she's never seen Immortal Beloved...

Yes, it is. Anvil is spot on, I too don't think it is quite as good as Amadeus, which is I feel a masterpiece, but Immortal Beloved is still a wonderful, moving and I think underrated film that is worth watching for the music, which is brilliant hardly a surprise as it's Beethoven, and Gary Oldman, who gives one of his best performances here.

Yes. Most assuredly. Unequivocally. No slight to Amadeus, but this cinematic Beethoven makes the cinematic Mozart look insipid and whiney. He is stormy and passionate. And he has no Salieri to blame his failures on, but only his own over emotionality (to coin a word). And the Ode to Joy scene utterly transports me every time I see it.
