what kind of bike does ed ride?

i dont have access to the movie to view it better, and 15 minutes of looking on the internet hasnt helped :(

can anyone tell me what kind of a motorcycle ed is riding in this movie?

During the sequence where Ed is giving Einstein a ride, just before they go airborn over the big hill, the lettering on the side of the gas tank says "Harley Davidson".

It would appear to be a Harley-Davidson 'K' model, made from 1952-1956.

I think it is the Harley-Davison KH model which was made from 1954-56. The K model was only made in 1952 and 1953. The K was 45 cu in and the KH was 55 cu in. Both were side valve engines. In 1957 Harley-Davidson changed the KH to an overhead valve and named it the "Sportster". Letter designation was changed to XLCH. I love this movie just for the motorcycle.

At about 17 minutes into the movie "Einstein" and "Ed" are standing on Einstein's driveway looking at the motorcycle. Einstein says that when he was a patent clerk in Switzerland that he imagined that he was going at the speed of light on a motorcycle. It clearly says "Harley Davidson" on the gas tank of the motorcycle.
