Have those 'puppet' shows been revived in modern-day China?

It seemed a sad waste to throw away something like the puppet-show, thanks to the zealotry of the Cultural Revolution. I'm curious, has the current communist regime relented, and allowed some of the cultural icons of olden days to return and flourish, or are they still a bunch of sticks-in-the-mud over there?

And oh my god, going around painting chariman Mao's big fat smiling face everywhere, that was just sickening.
