Hula Hoop meeting (a question)

Does anybody know if Tim Robbins actually kept up with the hula hooping for the entire scene? I just couldn't believe it and was really hoping the trivia here would shed some light but it isn't mentioned as far as I could see, he just kept going, that was like the most random thing Ive seen in a while.I love this movie!
