How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying

Of all the movies that Hudsucker was inspired by and pays homage to, I never seem to notice anyone mentioning How to Succeed in Business….

I first saw Hudsucker in high school in the 90's and we were doing a production of that musical at the time, so I'm sure all the connections were much more obvious to me.

But the similarities are so vast that I'm surprised it isn't mentioned much in the list of influences.

There's even a whole musical number where a character is singing "Now he's thinking…" "And she's thinking…" and filling in the thoughts of the two soon-to-be-lovebirds, just like the two cab drivers narrating Norville & Amy's lunch.
