PG Rating

While I have no problem with the movie being rated PG.. It fits the bill and all.. I find it interesting that it didn't end up with a PG-13 rating simply because of how adult/mature it is in plot and characters. Especially since almost every PG comedy of the 90's was a kids flick..

If there was one utterance of "f^ck" in this movie, I have a feeling it would have gotten an R rating, and no one would ever, ever look at it as a film that had potential to be PG.

Do you guys feel the PG rating just doesn't really suit the movie?

This seems like a movie kids could watch, especially since it has a Christmas setting and features scenes involving toys. Also, the film seems to target older audiences with the casting of Paul Newman and the 1950s setting.

It's…you know, for kids!

I could see what you are saying, but I think since the only real disturbing aspect of the film is Warring Hudsucker's suicide I think the rating was rather appropriate because this is mostly harmless fun.
