"You know, for drinks!"

I know Buzz was supposed to be stupid, but why would he believe Mussberger at all? Sid Mussberger tells Buzz that Norville stole his idea for the hula-hoop and Buzz believes him? Buzz would know if he had such a ground-breaking invention in his mind long before this point in the story. Any ideas why they went in this direction? My only complaint about this movie, aside from the false teeth in the clock tower's gears.
