Coach got lucky that Isiah went to his school, counts that as his own success, and uses that to justify his abusive behavior towards his players. "It's for your own good. I should know, I coached Isiah." bla bla bla.

shareYou don't know what you are talking about. Marshall HS Luther Bedford was a great coach. He coached kids from the neighborhood, refusing to recruit kids based on basketball skills. He was known as a caring mentor. The film didn't show that he took money from his own pockets to sometimes take groceries to the Agee home, as he did for other poor families. His former players and other coaches around Chicago attest to Bedford's character.
