HIGH Crusade

Yeah. I saw this movie the other day. I didn't think it was funny, but the more I think about it, the more I think it would be absolutely hysterical if you saw it while on a 'high crusade' of your own.

Yeah. That's right. I'm a gay robot.

The phone book is hysterical if you're high.

Disagree with you completely. The film has a fine RED DWARF level of humor and is very funny. I've screened the flick for a couple different groups of friends and everyone had a good time laughing with the flick.

Entirely different in tone from Poul Anderson's book, which was a wish-fulfillment fantasy wedding medieval historical fiction with science fiction (Anderson being well-qualified in both those genres). The book, although describing an absurd situation, at least depicted both the 14th-Century Englishmen and the aliens as intelligent, competent beings, not comic stooges. The movie really seems to me like a poor attempt at Pythonesque comedy.

The book ends with the Crusaders catching up with the rest of the human race when we get off the planet (only to find that the local area is controlled by knights bent on freeing the Holy Lands even now centuries later). Did they keep that in the movie or drop it? I'll have to program this into my Tivo to find it to watch.
