Female Agent?

In the argument with Tess over her driving off from the gas station Doug asks to be relived of his duties. An argument ensues and Doug points out that there are no females agents on his detail, supposedly so she could just to boss men around. Clearly there is a female involved in some of the conversations and meetings before and after this argument.

That was just the secretary wasn't it?I don't recall any others.

reply

I am pretty sure she is not the secretary. If memory serves, the agent that I am talking about is seen during the begining of the movie and then again mid way. She is blonde and good looking. the secratary is meek and homly.

reply

No I honestly don't recall...Maybe it was a blonde long haired bloke?

reply

The OP is exactly right. I wondered that too. The woman was certainly not the secretary. She looked Secret Service to me.

reply

I didn't think that lady was part of the secret service detail. I thought that lady was the full-time nurse. An FBI agent refers to a full-time nurse when talking to the president right after Tess is kidnapped.

Do you want me, Gideon?
More than my next breath, Eva. You're my addiction... my obsession...

This flick is special, I've watch it many times and never tire of it.

As far as the female SS agent, I've doubled checked and can't find any evidence of her? Just check all the cast in IMDB itself, and account for every female listed...I mean, they even credit the autograph seeker, doctor, nurse & a female restaurant patron. I'm sure if there was a female SS on premise office she'd have been listed. Lastly check out digging/farm barn scene or the briefing in the SS agent - other than the red headed female secretary, no women. If anything, I was kind taken aback by the two new agents in attendance during the briefing, esp the Obama look alike, where was he during most of the movie??
Also a female agent wouldn't have fit one of the basic narratives offered up in the movie.

Check the cast, if you need proof.

There are two secretaries -- Tess' (the meek one) and the one for the agents. The blonde is the latter.

Outside the gate, when Doug is begging to be let in, there is a female agent with the detail. I wondered about it too.

I guess it's like looking at clouds. You see one thing and I see another. Peace.

reply

But that was after their conversation. They might have brought a woman in after she fired them. She obviously had not approved them.

reply

I think you are talking about the "Barbara" character played by Katie O'Hare http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0641361/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t17

nobody lives forever...

reply

I thought this was explanable simply through the woman being a junior or subordinate agent. I definitely never thought Tess was sexist so I just assumed she was being dramatic and calling Doug out on there being no equal/senior female agents.

So it still works for me and doesn't feel like a cheat.
