WARNING: Spoilers Ahead

Uncle Joe says that he is broke and he has filed for bankrupcy. So the greedy relatives ditch him at the meeting. MJF does too, but only because Uncle Joe lied. But then, MJF, after some convincing by Nancy Travis, forgives him and moves him into his apartment. There, Uncle joe admits that he really is still rich and invites MJF and Nancy to move with him into his mansion. He really wanted to find out who really loved him. MJF agrees under one condition: Uncle Joe stops lying. Uncle Joe promises not to lie to him anymors, gets up out of his wheelchair and walks out (the punchline of the lying: the whole disability thing was faked)

Greedy had the best twist ending I've seen in a long time. I havn't seen the film for ages, but I still remember that funny ending!

reply

Yeah, I liked how they had the ending.

Uncle Joe going through the apartment saying that he doesn't like it and how he wants to go back to his mansion. MJF telling him that he is broke, then Uncle Joe has him look out the window.

I laughed the first time I saw him get out of the chair.

*FYI* When you see Molly and the butler outside of the apartment. The movie playing at the theatre behind them is 'Charade'.

reply

getting out of the chair was excellent.

"no more lies"

Robin (nancy travis) and Daniel McTeague (MJF) was being asked to visit Uncle Joe. after robin told daniel actually daniel really cares Joe.

both went to visit Joe. Joe told them that the nurse is actually not greedy but he must play them so make her to pretend that she wants money.

and Joe make both Daniel plus robin to see how much wealth Joe himself have.

finally, joe ask them to go with him and began to get himself off from the wheelchair, and both daniel plus robin both open their mouth wide.

reply

"Greedy" nurse isn't greedy in real, but just to be paid by Joe to deceive all people in McTeague.

Danny and Robin return to Joe's apartment to see Joe. and was being pointed to a big big mansion.

Joe's Greedy Nurse is actually not that greedy, she is good by Joe's word.

Joe told Danny and Robin that he will give them this big house or money...not know. but finally Danny and Robin ask Joe not to lie them anymore.

Joe promise, BUT STAND FROM THAT WHEELCHAIR and walk outside.

McTeague Joe was left alone , Daniel Jr heard with Robin from someone else...

daniel Jr and Robin decided to visit Joe...

they said they can take care of Joe. Then Joe spoke to them that Molly is actually a good person who concerned himself.

then suddenly Daniel and Robin look at window...Joe stood up and walk to door.

Daniel Jr and Robin both got shocked...

The Point of the ending was, Uncle Joe had to do what he did, in pretending to be broke to see who really cared about him and loved him alot.

At the scene in the courtroom, when the judge mentioned that Uncle Joe was broke and owed the IRS a big fortune, the other relatives got mad and just walked out on him in some crazy way.

Danny was upset too, however, later on after he flashed a sign to Robin, saying "He was Broke", Robin forgave him and Danny with Robin's help decide to help Uncle Joe out by letting him move into Danny's and Robins apartment.

He tells both of them that he doesn't like either bedroom there, however, he says he wants to go back to his mansion but they tell him, he can't because he is broke which was a phony thing to teach the others who would really care for him has himself and an uncle not some rich person for an inheritance.

Then they look out the window and both Douglas, the butler and Molly are there and even though Uncle Joe hired Molly as a private nurse, she wasn't after his money, no she really cared very much about him.

So he tells Danny and Robin to both move into his mansion with him and his money is theirs, which means Robin will still keep her career and Joe will give Danny the 300 grand to start that bowling business of his.
