Billie, Lester, Louis, + Miles?????

As much as I enjoy this photograph ( I have a big poster on my wall);
and as often as I watch the DVD, I am always saddened, disappointed and curious as to why Billie Holiday, Lester Young, Louis Armstrong and Miles Davis are not in this photograph!

This was shot in 1957/58, when they were all still alive, and all
four of them had residences in New York, or spent a good deal of their time there.

Lester and Billie were the first to die among these I have mentioned; with Lester dying in March, and Billie dying in August of 1959.

I do realize that Billie and Lester were in ill health; and maybe that is the reason they did not appear to participate.

Still, as great as this photograph is.....can you imagine if these
"Famous Four" had been at that photo shoot, what a double treasure it would be?!!
