This movie is almost as bad as 'Revenge of Godzilla'

I think Godzilla films are among humanity's greatest accomplishments in the arts. However, this film has serious problems and is one of only three Godzilla films I would describe as "hard to enjoy".

Having finally seen this yesterday, here are some glaring problems I have with it.

THE BAD

1) How is Godzilla going to be killed by an anti-coagulant bullet? Especially one small enough to be fired from a submachine gun?

2) Mind controlling Godzilla by aliens is OK, but having humans whip something up seemed silly. It looked like it worked early on, so why wasn't it ever used again?

3) One of the scientists seems to work for the Yakuzas... OK, that was totally out of left field and not explained at all. Also, how could organized crime mind-control the big G? Shouldn't they be more concerned with making a quick buck than dominating the world? I think aliens would have worked better here. He could have been an alien or something.

4) There is a scene early on where two guys point a pistol and an M16 at Godzilla. One of the other characters says "DON'T KILL HIM!" WTF? I can only see the English dubbed version, so hopefully in the Japanese they say something more reasonable, like "Don't waste your ammo, dumb$%@#."

5) Godzilla Junior. Why was it necessary to make him look so cartoony?

6) Space Godzilla is kind of a stupid name. I keep wanting to call him Mechagodzilla for some reason.

7) SG "kidnaps" Jr in the first battle, and ...nothing happens. This never becomes a point ever again in the movie. If it had no significance, why make a big deal about it in the first place?

8) SG's presence seems to create these massive crystals all over the place. What their purpose is, is never explained or witnessed, because except for a brief moment in fight #2 they never matter. Even that scene with the crystals landing on Godzilla's island, why was this important enough to be filmed and then dropped completely?

9) Moguera looks dopey and it is hard to understand how such a stupid looking robot could be so effective. No explanation was offered as to why Mechagodzilla was not available. They could have just said "Mecha-G is busted so here's his retarded cousin."

10) SG draws power from a human-made building. Why? And not all those crystals? Why is that particular building so significant?

11) Godzilla has trouble knocking this building over. This was the dumbest part of the entire movie, since when does Godzilla have a hard time knocking down a man-made structure? They should have made this a giant SG crystal, then this scene would have made more sense.

12) The mothras. No explanation was offered as to why Mothra was in space, why she is shooting tons of mothras everywhere, why the twins only appeared to one person, why she didn't help more if the battle was so important, why why why ....

13) The final battle should have had less Moguera.

14) Godzilla uses a red version of his atomic breath to kill SG. Why didn't he use this earlier in the fight?

15) Jr isn't rescued. That shot of him at the end, was it a dream? Why the hell didn't they show him getting rescued? Actually, why was he in the movie at all?

16) Psychic lady's earrings. LOL

THE GOOD

1) Space Godzilla, despite having a weak name, is a great monster.

2) The Godzilla suit looked great.

3) Space Godzilla spearing Moguera with his tail was the best scene in the movie.

1) How is Godzilla going to be killed by an anti-coagulant bullet? Especially one small enough to be fired from a submachine gun?

He never is.
2) Mind controlling Godzilla by aliens is OK, but having humans whip something up seemed silly. It looked like it worked early on, so why wasn't it ever used again?

It didn't work.

He was a silly bad guy.

I don't remember that in the Japanese version.
5) Godzilla Junior. Why was it necessary to make him look so cartoony?

He's Little GodzillaTM and he's here to sell toys.
6) Space Godzilla is kind of a stupid name. I keep wanting to call him Mechagodzilla for some reason.

SpaceGodzilla is the greatest villain of the series... it's Godzilla, from space. All the worst attributes of G... because it's SpaceG. This is explained at the end.
7) SG "kidnaps" Jr in the first battle, and ...nothing happens. This never becomes a point ever again in the movie. If it had no significance, why make a big deal about it in the first place?

It's the whole catalyst for the final fight... Little Godzilla is fine, it's told to us through some kind of telepathic hallucination.
8) SG's presence seems to create these massive crystals all over the place. What their purpose is, is never explained or witnessed, because except for a brief moment in fight #2 they never matter. Even that scene with the crystals landing on Godzilla's island, why was this important enough to be filmed and then dropped completely?

They're energy totems.
9) Moguera looks dopey and it is hard to understand how such a stupid looking robot could be so effective. No explanation was offered as to why Mechagodzilla was not available. They could have just said "Mecha-G is busted so here's his retarded cousin."

Because it can dig underground and split into two things? This is advanced.
10) SG draws power from a human-made building. Why? And not all those crystals? Why is that particular building so significant?

Because it was a satellite drawing energy into the crystal network. Not exactly logical, but what is in even the most of these movies.
11) Godzilla has trouble knocking this building over. This was the dumbest part of the entire movie, since when does Godzilla have a hard time knocking down a man-made structure? They should have made this a giant SG crystal, then this scene would have made more sense.

Because it was reinforced by Spacemagic.
12) The mothras. No explanation was offered as to why Mothra was in space, why she is shooting tons of mothras everywhere, why the twins only appeared to one person, why she didn't help more if the battle was so important, why why why ....

Because MothraTM adds another monster to this already monster loaded movie, after GodzillaTM, SpaceGodzillaTM, MOGERATM, and Little GodzillaTM. That's a five-monster movie, and actually makes this an epic preamble to the final fight in the next film.
13) The final battle should have had less Moguera.

MOGERA and Yuki are the greatest heroes of all time.
14) Godzilla uses a red version of his atomic breath to kill SG. Why didn't he use this earlier in the fight?

Because now he's inflamed.
15) Jr isn't rescued. That shot of him at the end, was it a dream? Why the hell didn't they show him getting rescued? Actually, why was he in the movie at all?

Yeah, he was getting some kind of crystal makeover in another dimnesion. He's fine.
16) Psychic lady's earrings. LOL

This is to show that the devil is working through her. Consider film as art.
