This is coming from a gay man, so... lesbian = do nothign for me. So this is pretty much a completely objective view. This movie... gracious. Awful. I understna dhtta independent film is some tough crap to make/get funding for/find decent actors for/etc. But lack of funding does not excuse crappy dialogue and poor direction. This is yet another queer film that falls under the category of "poorly-made-'art-for-the-sake-of-art'-gay-film." I agree, more lesbian films do need ot be made... but for the love-of-pete... lesbians have more dykesplotation films than they know what to do with. Do a little google searching and I promise more will come up.
And to the original poster: try to look at it this way: this is the lesbian equivilent to Queer As Folk. QAF never meant to emulatethe entire gay community, merely a small group of friends and their lives. This is kind of the same thing. You also have to take into account that this is still very much under the influence of the lesbian "grunge" look that hit hard in the early 90s and stuck around for... *sighs* waaaaayyyy too long. :) The final sex scene was kind of a... ice cream cone to the audience. Unfortunatley, it did seem very forced and seemingly unnatural for these characters. But, it was kind of a "now, you've all been good little girls, sitting through our little movie... now here's some F---ing. Thanks!"
