Very rarely does a remake do justice

well done Hollywood, for once they got it right - a thoroughly enjoyable film not a 10 but a strong 7 and it has 'rewatchable' value

I'd rate it about a 5.5. It follows 90% of the original script, so if they're not going to bring anything new to the table, why not just re-watch the '72 film instead?

And Baldwin gives it a good effort, but he just can't hold a candle to McQueen in the original. Kim Basinger, however, is ten times hotter than Ali McGraw, though.

Why not? A Nightmare on Elm Street, Ghostbusters, Psycho, The Longest Yard and Red Dawn are a few examples of the remakes being better than the original

There's a hot take.
