Stupid question...*possibl e spoilers*

So what exactly killed Crash and Professor Hartridge? Crash was probably sick for a while but the Professor died quite suddenly. Did people sneak into his house and poison him? And why didn't Max the artist die? He helped Gabriel figure out the diagram.

What about the police station, why was everyone acting all weird there too? I just don't understand.

If anyone can help out, I'd really appreicate it. Thanks!

I could be wrong, but I always figured that "they" (the bad guys, specifically Dr. John) used gris gris to kill Crash and the professor. According to Madame Cazaneou (sp?) and Crash, "they" can kill you quite easily from afar. I have never perceived their murders as being something mundane like poison.

As for the architect student, he did not understand the meaning behind the drawing he made for Gabriel. He certainly felt bad vibes from it, but he was not nearly as deep in the mystery, or as aware of the case as the professor and Crash. I imagine Dr. John did not perceive the student as a threat for those reasons.

At least, that's my opinion.

The killing of Dr. Hartridge actually seemed a bit silly to me. It's a bit of a cliché: the protagonist is just about to learn a vital piece of information, when the person who sits on the information is killed at the most inopportune moment. Sort of, "I saw who the murderer was, it was... aaaaaarrrrrrrgh".

The reason it is silly is that it would be just as easy, in fact easier, to just kill the protagonist instead of killing every single person around the protagonist.

That's where Gabriel's schattenjager powers come into play :p

Much good those powers did me when I walked into the conclave without the snake painted on my chest

Of course, considering how effectively they got rid of Mosely I'm surprised Dr. John didn't just strangle me any of the numerous occasions I visited his museum.

reply

Well Dr John has the powerful spirit of Worf the klingon as his Loa.
