Mexican American?

In the key words it says Mexican American.

I am Latino just for the record and i know there were ALOT of Latinos in this movie which is one reason i like it. But i would of thought they were all Puerto Rican/Dominican or Cuban you know. Especially Esteban (played by an African American/White guy i know) could never be Mexican and neither could Herbie or many others. Also there in Brooklyn in East New York and Bushwick which is predomintly Puerto Rican/Dominican and also alot of the bodegas have the PR flag in it. So my question is why is it in the key words Mexican American?? The only thing i thought was Mexican was the guy who was credited as "Mexican" lol. Im Just curious to why that key word was added.

i was wondering who the "Mexican" person was in this movie so i decided to look up Mateo Gomez, it turns out he was the chess hustler Fresh beat at the chess park. i think it was dumb for him to be credited as "Mexican" if "Chess Hustler" described who he really was. didnt look mexican either and your right, the majority of the latinos portrayed in the film were of those you mentioned except for Giancarlo Esposito whos mixed Italian/Black. but he can speak Caribbean spanish very well so he has done many roles as Puerto Rican thugs. Im latino too, Dominican

they probably did it cuz outside of the northeast, most white people refer to hispanics as mexicans. on the east coast, they refer to them as ricans... lol

Most hispanics get referred to as mexicans the same way all black people in the u.s. would get the african american moniker and the way asians would get called chinese.

I really think people just remember the biggest geographical marker for certain ethnicity and roll with it lol
