More "City of God" over "Boys in the Hood".

I ignored this originally because it looked like a typical black rapper film over what it was. Just a amazing film. Boaz Yakin was a genius here.

This ain't "City of God" at all. This is an outright disturbing movie of its own league.

If you want to compare it with something, compare it with 'THE WIRE' (and not only for the chess connection, but the writing and mood and details) but it's definitly a movie that got it's own without needing comparisons.

But yeah it's different from BOYZ N THE HOOD for sure, which was good but way too preachy.

This one is different from COG which is okay in its own way but more cinematic and flashy, while Flesh is more stripped down and compelling.
