Mrs. Gump and Jenny never have a scene together

It is actually... Good observation. What do you make of it?

I think it's missed opportunity, or maybe a cut scene. I realized it when Jenny met Lieutenant Dan, and thought it was kinda strange that the two biggest influences in Forrest life never had a scene together. Ya know, Mrs. Gump probably would've really appreciated Forrest's only friend up until college, and I feel like there should have been a scene to show that.

I goy the idea she didn't want him to have friends but keep him to herself. She did want him to go to regular school and let him ride the bus.

The movie is on forest--not his mom. I don't see this as misogynistic--society ignores the voices, experiences and view points of people with disabilities. Seeing American History through their eyes is interesting.

And because there is a scene where Child protective services had removed Jenny and her siblings from sexual abuse, I think Mrs Gump had "questioned Jenny" about how she was doing without Forrest realizing what would happen if his friend was introduced to his mother. "Somebody" did hear about Jenny's abuse and did act to further prevent it.

the screenplay is trying to show how stuff is handled discretely in the soulth in the 1950's.
