Realism?
Does anyone think the portrayal of mental illness in this film is pushed to the side or not even looked in to rather than being treated and dealt with?
shareConsidering the movie was set in the 60´s-80´s I think it is realistic. Back then they it was often pushed aside and denied.
shareWhat mental illness? You mean Forrest Gump's mental retardation? I wouldn't consider that mental illness in the way I would consider schizophrenia or bipolar disorder to be mental illnesses.
