Similar to Wayne Wang's 'Smoke'
I know people aren't going to see the connection offhand, but the popular indie "Smoke" (with Harvey Keitel and others) had that introspective "Life may be a b****, but we're all in it together feel" in its heart. And how many films have heart today? For some reason, I see "Floundering" having a heart too, even if the narrative is mixed-up. And like "Smoke" is rewatchable. I don't how else to describe it but John Boyz would feel welcome in Auggie' shop (if he enough sense to drop the other drugs for cigar nicotine.)
