Don't Make the Same Mistake I Did

Attention fans of George Romero, zombie movies, horror films, etc.
Whatever curiosity you may have about this film, IGNORE it!!! Do not, DO NOT spend money on this movie! I wasted (this is an embarrassing admission)...20 dollars on the DVD. I had seen part of it before as a little kid (isn't that alone disturbing to think I was allowed to watch this movie at a young age?)...but I remember telling my dad I didn't want to watch anymore about 40 minutes into the film. Anyways, just a word of caution: This movie is horrible. The ONLY value it has is heckling, but it's also extremely repulsive and disgusting, so... you might not want to make the same mistake as me.

ew, i like this movie, i think it's great, day of the dead is the best to me, or dawn, but it doesn't make this movie not watchable

Dude whats wrong with you? this movies awesome! It isnt the best zombie movie ever but it has some okay acting, ALOT of gore, some nice scares and a good atmosphere.

Speaking of that this is one of the creepiest zombie movies I have ever seen. The atmosphere works great. Do you even like horror movies?

Given that quote you are hardly qualified to question anyone else's dedication to the genre.

If this is one of the creepiest zombie films you've seen then you definitely haven't seen the right zombie films.

I second that, yellowrobe.

It's a terrible film! Christ, it was directed by the guy who's only real distinction was that he was the first zombie in Night of the Living Dead! The acting is awful, the kids are moronic (two boards on the door. Yeah, that's secure. Plastic over the windows? Zombies will never get in!) and the ending is a COMPLETE rip off of Night of the Living Dead, complete with the same guy doing the shooting!

And THAT is where babies come from.

reply

If you like the zombies just watch it, it's like NOTLD with more gore, the acting and sound editing are a shame but it's a lot of fun.

My favorite movie of all time is Night of the Living Dead, so I love the zombie genre (even if Hollywood is going overboard with zombie flicks). But I just could not watch Flesh Eater. I saw some of it a long time ago and had always wondered if it was worth re-visiting...my curiosity got the better of me when I purchased the dvd (for 20 dollars). I love bad movies but this one was unwatchable. You gotta have SOME standards even in this genre.

Don't touch it, Jack! You don't know where it's been!

How so?

'Dawn of the Dead (Remake)' and 'Land of the Dead' is hardly going overboard!

omg u liek 4gawt shawn of teh ded! rofl!

He may think Shaun of the Dead, Dawn of the Dead, and Land of the Dead so close together is overboard. Imagine what he thinks of all the PG-13 ghost movies.

i would like to see any of you guys make a successful film on any level...it is alot more difficult than it looks

reply

You give me the EXACT budget that Flesheater had and I will make a movie that topples Dawn of the Dead...either one.

reply

i kind of doubt that you could make something that would "topple" either of the Dawn of the Dead's considering they are 2 of the best zombie movies made, but you might give them a run for their money...all i can say is that if you can get your hands on a budget let me know how you did it, that is difficult

reply

If I ever get the money for it, you can rest assured I will let everyone here know I made it. :-)

if you guys dig this flick, you should go to massacrefilms.com and check out the 45 min flick my friends and i made...let me know what you think

reply

Very unlikely. You could topple many zombie movies, but not Dawn of the Dead. The problem with "Flesheaters" wasn't budget, it was acting and writing. Two boards over a door doesn't make it secure!

This movie suffers from a mixture of bad writing, poor editing, and uninspired direction. The story is like an eighties slasher film mixed with Night of the Living Dead. If they had fleshed (no pun intended) out some of the characters and we didn't have those generic "nameless/faceless" victims, this one could have actually been good. They also "borrowed" way too heavily from NotLD for my tastes. The grue is surprisingly good, however. I gave it a 4/10.

I bought this movie not knowing anything about it for a buck on vhs awhile back and watched it with my friends, sure the acting was bad and the story was pretty generic but all in all, I think it's a pretty funny zombie flick with a few surprisingly great moments (The little zombie girl.)

It's a bad movie, doesn't make it into the "so bad it's good" category neither. It makes the dead next door resemble a fulci flick, and makes zombie flesh eaters resemble a romero flick!

Dead Next Door was supposed to be bad. It was funded by Sam Raimi, just for mindless kicks, which it acheives. It wasn't supposed to be a money raker or anything. Characters named after horror movie buffs, the bad acting...and the way the doctor administers injections...in the commentary he admits he hates needles, so he could only do it by just jamming it downward, rather then do an actual slow injection.

Flesheaters, however, was not supposed to be a joke.

And THAT is where babies come from.

reply

First off, maybe you should have researched the movie first before assuming it was a Romero, secondly, you're a whiner.

reply

The original poster didn't say he thought it was a Romero film. He said,
