Uncut version

I live in the UK and this flick is on sale for £2.99 at my local DVD shop under the title "Flesh Eater". It's not the VIPCO release and I'm wondering if it's the uncut one. Are all copies uncut these days?

reply

I ended up just getting it. It looks pretty uncut.

Bad but in a good way....plus it had the "making of" on it too so that was good.

reply

Yep, it's a downright awful film, but worth owning if you enjoy bad films. For me it ranks right up there with Troll 2 as one of the best bad films ever. I've probably watched it about 50 times.

Not sure if your copy is uncut or not but it IS a pretty graphic film, despite the dodgy fx.

I have the vhs vipco release and the vipco dvd,the only thing i noticed was a few xtra secs when the main zombie puts his hand through the girls stomach.

That's what I've been told. I saw the vipco vhs as well and it was pretty graphic but it didn't have the full stomach scene.

Can't remember about this but there was a scene where he's chasing the daughter (just out of a shower and wearing only a towel) around the room after he invades the house. He bites her in the neck then he pulls the towel off her and bites her a bit further down! The vhs copy may have cut that bit.

reply

The first version I watched of this had that scene. It was on the "Revenge of the Living Zombies" vhs. Wish I could find it. The scene is not on the Magnum vhs.

acording to the BBFC website the old vipco 93, release is cut by bout 1 min 41 secs but the versions released after in 2005 are completley uncut. if it has the old style darker (18) cert then chances it's cut if it has the new style 18 cert the lighter coloured red then its uncut.

The STAX entertainment DVD (the one under the name FLESH EATER on the case, and FLESH EATER: REVENGE OF THE LIVING DEAD in the film, is a straight 'port of the Region 1 Shriek Show/Media Blasters release, so if that one is uncut then this is too. I got it in a six movie pack with Carnival of Souls, Nightmare in a Damaged Brain, American Gothic etc....for about £2 and enjoyed it.
