Bitterness

I watched the extras on this fun B-Movie DVD, in which the director talks about making the movie, and the trouble involved when Romero saw what he was doing. He strikes me as being a very bitter man, who, despite clearly lacking Romero's talent, feels he should be worthy of identical fame and fortune.

I had as much fun watching this as I did the awful movie!

I didn't dislike this pic but Hinzman does seem to wish his zombie under Romeros direction should be head & shoulders above the thousands of others. Didn't mind so much his rehash under Russos direction in the 30th anniversary edition. But this pic feels more like a ripoff than homage

Well, it's said that Romero is the grandfather of the modern day zombie. If this is true, Billy boy was that grandson. He was the first zombie...and I will admit, he was pretty good. Very stiff in his movements without looking like he's trying way too hard.

But he does seem to think WAY too highly of himself. Staggering about, growling, and smashing a window with a brick doesn't require great acting.

And THAT is where babies come from.

I saw the making of documentary too and thought it was good. I don't think he thinks too highly of himself, but he does seem to have made that character his own and likes to be part of the whole media surrounding NOTLD.

Wondering why he never wrote/directed himself in other leading roles. Flesh Eater and Majorettes are the only two he has listed as a director on IMDb.

He seems very nice and likeable he did not seem bitter or angry. Or like he should be as big as Romero. He was angry that they tried to tell him not to take the pictures of him with a girl for the cover. Honestly hes an actor and i dont see any legal laws for copyright to stop him from making the movie. Nor is it really a ripoff he realized people knew him and liked his zombie in notld. So he wanted to make another zombie movie he liked the character which to be honest he is the character he did the acting and look its not great acting but i mean its good zombie acting. Also i think its a shame he passed he seemed like a very nice and laid back guy. I would have loved to meet him and wish i could have and had my copy signed. He will be missed shame he never made another zombie movie. As he did a pretty great job with this and lets be honest. Its better than Romeros new stuff diary was ok but survival was a mess. This was far better sure its not as good as Romero in his prime. But its better than alot of other zombie movies and i am proud to have this awesome flick in my collection.

You'd have to be graced with the IQ of a sack of Cheetos to think this film isn't a ripoff or that its as good as anything Romero has ever made. The only thing it comes close to in Romero's resume is what he leaves in the toilet every morning.

I said it was better than his recent stuff. No its not anywhere near Day Of The Deads level but its a decent little zombie flick and i liked it. It is a rip off. but its fun.

I'm afraid I have to disagree...this was a pretty bad movie. At times it looks like it wasn't really edited, just sort of edited in camera. It definitely lifted elements from Romero's movie, but, yeah...Romero's worst is still better than this.

It's kind of entertaining in a cheesy way but it has nothing on Romero's stuff.
