People in Rhode Island don't have New York accents.

Basically the Rhode Island (and southern Massachusetts) accent is similar to Boston except for the O's. Bobby would be pronounced Bobby not Bawby like the Boston area. And water would be wawtah, not wahtah. Just because they are Italian Americans doesn't mean they have New York accents. if you saw the Movie Outside Providence, they got the accents almost right. This was a good movie except for the wrong accent.
