OK, I know I wasn't paying much attention to this "classic", but in the hotel room scene where Elliot is telling Peter what Kathy is doing in Denver, he mentions Tom, just "Tom", and Peter replies "Tom ... Andrews ?". How did Peter know Tom's last name? Maybe I missed something but I thought up until that point, Peter had no idea who Tom was.

Or....he had gone through her private stuff, like some spouses do.
But I bet Kathy had said his name before to him...and he just recalled it.
They met at the gallery before when Tom saw his wife talking to him and figured he was her lover.
