well all i can say is i am pre-ordering this just in case of no U.S. release. this is absolutely incredible and awesomeeeeee! i am at a loss of words here! this is like the best B-Day present !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i have tried to find out more information about the dvd release of the fantastic four but cannot find anything yet. i have emailed the company about it and have not got a reply yet. i am hoping this is true and i cannot see this movie just being burned up and 1 copy made of the master either. take Legend for instance. they had several masters of this made. if i hear anything i will post again ASAP if i get anymore on this. this would i think be true as a "silent release" overseas could be possible...anyone know who has the rights to this movie now?
well here it is. the email message i got today from: www.fbo.com.au
i think the information we had is wrong as this is the animated version. The non animated version is coming out some time in the future, but we don’t have a date for it as yet.
i guess that says it all for now. unless we get really lucky.......
Talking to some people in LA at the LA Autograph Show (I promised not to use names - really!), I understand that SUPPOSEDLY Corman and Fox are releasing the movie to video stores the same week as the new movie to tie in and make some movie. Not gospel but it did sound interesting.
I would think that this movie would do nothing more then keep people from wanting to see the new one in theaters. Anyone that isnt a die hard FF4 fan might see this foul 1994 version of the film and be totally turned off by the entire story and appeal. IMO its unlikely or else its a terrible move on Fox's part.
PacoDeth has it correct. This will never be officially released. At the very least not until long after they have milked the merchandising out of the current version.
