almost soft core porn

I expected a much funnier movie, instead, I got soft core porn, Hollywood style. Needless to say, it didn't live up to its potential.

reply

Yeah, but Dana Delany naked is worth the price of admission.

reply

Amen. I'll drink to that (but then, again, I'll drink to ANYTHING!).

reply

I never thought much of Dana Delany, but she was SOOOOO HOOOOT in this movie. I practically jizzed in my pants.

reply

Oh, yeah, DID she get nekkid?

I'm the bad guy? How'd that happen?
Michael Douglas ("D-FENS"), in "Falling Down"

reply

Living up to it's potential would have made it HARD CORE PORN.

Did you read the book? Jeez this is an easier sell let me tell ya.

Besides, as stated, watching Dana come out of the pool was worth the price of admission AND the DVD. Just like the scene in TRADING PLACES when Jamie Lee Curtis whips her top off, made the movie that much better.

Wonder if Dana ever did any more nude scenes? Anyone know?

Benjamin Franklin, right?

Just HOW nude does Dana get, full frontal?

I haven't seen this movie yet, but I read the book, and it sounds like the film crew didn't read it... why the *beep* would anyone make a COMEDY out of this?!

All I can say is you can't accuse Garry Marshall of making "chick flicks" anymore. Wow!

reply

You know, it's funny; "Exit to Eden" RARELY plays on television, so the other day I looked for it in a video store in the mall. When I found it I said, "I'm not going to pay THAT much money for it ($18.95, or thereabouts)." So, I was pleasantly surprised, yesterday, when I was channel surfing on Cinemax to find it in the listings. Anyway, outside of Dana Delany's nude scenes (GREAT!), the movie REALLY sucked!!! I'm glad I saved that $18.95, now!

I thought it was a pleasant movie. Some beautiful bodies and a fairly silly storyline. The Rosie O'Donnell and Dan Aykroyd parts were there primarily for humor and the storyline involving Dana Delany had no trace of humor at all, leading to an odd blend. I have to admit I did find a lot of it more erotic than I had anticipated, and, as someone said earlier, Rosie O'Donnell was probably more appealing in this movie than she has been in any others, possibly because she felt vulnerable playing such a role, which led to her giving a slightly more subdued (and hence more charming) performance than usual.

i love rosie o´donnell in that movie (never saw her before or after it, not even heard about her), her "hot dance" is so great! (i thought: hoop - what`s THAT? and played it again + one more time before i moved on watching the film - it´s so funny!)

She indeed did get "nekkid." COMPLETELY. Just one problem. She FORGOT to shave her pubic hair for her nude scenes. She could have learned a lot from Elizabeth Berkley who had the good sense to invest in sharp razors and shaving cream for her role in Showgirls!

Dana Delany, learn from Elizabeth Berkley? I think not. Some men (myself included) LIKE natural women. Bush. GIVE ME BUSH!

reply

Gotta disagree on that one. Her bush was lovely and those legs and bare feet in the bathtub scene. Oh Baby! One of the most sensuous scenes I have ever seen in a mainstream film, right up there with Gena Gershon and Jennifer Tilly sweating up the sheets in "Bound."

Am I the only one who found Stephanie Niznik, the actress who played Diana in the film, even more distracting than Dana Delaney? What a beautiful woman...

reply

I'm not sure. I don't recall who she was.

reply

And its nice.

reply

Rosie O'Donnell is the female Danny DeVito. She ruins any movie she's in. Box office poison.

reply

"female Danny Devito." haha nice. Her and Giselle Bundchen should do a remake of Junior.

reply

"I expected a much funnier movie, instead, I got soft core porn"

There's the contradiction: most expected the porn and were surprised at the comedy!

reply

And the biggest problem was that the story from the book was supposed to be erotic BDSM and that was too risque for Hollywood so they turned it into a police comedy with two lead characters who weren't even in the book.

Lol to srnumber9's comment. So true. I wish the likes of Philip Kaufman (Quills, Henry and June) or even a foreign director would have pushed the film to its NC-17 potential. Gary Marshall's involvement baffles me.
