Come on put this on DVD?

Ok I see this movie is out on vhs and a new copy is $75. Get real that's way to high for a normal link movie I dont care how real it is. Now that might be a little reasonable if it was on dvd but still too high. Put this movie on DVD. It aint that hard. We have the technology. If we got money and technology to throw away on sensless movies, and all these buildings and other stuff we dont need, you can at least transfer this movie on dvd for a low $15 price.

I think it's stupid that every single other Ernest movie is on DVD, except Goes to School.

reply

Not true, Ernest Rides Again isn't on DVD either.

Lets put a SMILE on that face!

reply

Incorrect sir, Ernest Rides Again is on DVD. However it's a Canadian release, but it IS region 1. They are a bit pricy, starting at about 40 bucks, on amazon.com. It's a totally barebones release. I believe it was distributed by Lions Gate Films.

But no Ernest Goes To School is not on DVD. And I don't understand why. I'm guessing a legal issue.

reply

Actually, I found a copy of Ernest Rides Again at Dollar General for $4

Ernest Rides Again is out on DVD but there's a few things you should know before buying it.

1)It is a region 1 release (U.S.A & Canada releases only)
2)It's only available in Canada (Not in the USA) but IS Region 1 none-the-less
3)It will be more expensive if you're ordering from U.S. since it's considered an import

4)Ernest Goes To School IS the only "Ernest" movie NOT released on DVD and the reason for this is more than likely because it was the only Ernest movie John Cherry didn't direct (Coke Sams) John Cherry was however an executive producer for "Ernest Goes To School" but more likely he didn't have the majority of the rights to the movie.

So unless "Coke Sams" sells the rights to John Cherry or gives the rights away to him after he dies which i don't see happening anytime soon, i don't see Ernest Goes To School coming out on DVD

A)Coke Sams has probably turned down some pretty good offers
B)John Cherry has probably made some pretty good offers just to get the last movie out on DVD for the fans.

Ernest Goes to School IS available on DVD however like Ernest Rides Again it is NOT available in a U.S. release. It was released on R2 DVD by Blackhorse Entertainment.

reply

Ernest Goes To School is the only Ernest movie NOT available in The U.S.A. or Canada.

I should know cause I have all of them except Ernest Goes To School. Ernest Goes To School might be available in other countries on DVD but it's NOT available In Region 1 (which is USA & Canada)

Ernest Rides Again actually IS available from Canada on Region 1 DVD
