Is Nelly die in the end ?

In one shoot near the end of movie wee see unclearly the body and blood , right after the Paul's Flashback

I guess so. She doesn't move at all when tied.

The entire straight razor slashing is entirely in Paul's head.

Even Paul, through his madness, recognizes the incongruity when ... in one continuous shot, so that there can't be any spare time passage .... he goes from seeing Nelly in a pool of blood in the bathroom to still being tied to the bed and not bloody at all.

Sleeping completely motionlessly is to be expected for Nelly at that point. She is on a double dose of sleeping pills. She's more unconscious than "sleeping" in the usual sense. That really shouldn't be enough of an overdose to kill her. I suppose that it is just *possible* that the sleeping pills were fatal, though.

She still could very well not survive through the night, though.

Seems like her breathing is audible ...but I guess it could be Paul were hearing. I tend to agree with PillowRock, but the ending seems purposefully ambiguous.

You know, this really was a well-done, disturbing little flick. It goes oh-so-subtly from a charming, romantic vibe to full-on psychosis during its running time.

Too bad the DVD transfer I saw was really second rate.
