never surfed in my life

but, when a movie can make you a) wanna try something crazy you've never done, or b) feel like you did, it gets pretty high marks in my book as quality entertainment.
i've seen both "endless summer" movies and, while i don't think the second film is as enlightening (or, just visually beautiful), i love them both for what they represent...namely, a way of looking at life - one of the reasons i moved out west, and just love places like cali and hawai'i as "states of mind" as much as being actual locations on the map. and, summer is the best time of year :-)

hopefully, bruce brown will come up with an "endless summer 3" one day. and, hopefully it won't be another 30 years before that happens.

after watchin this movie nearly a year ago, im finally gettin my chances to go out to surf with my cousin saturday. we booked a couple surf trips and it should be great. I just love this movie, the only thing that makes me sad is that I live up near Boston and my parents have no plans to move out west, due to their current jobs. I hope I can raise my kids and live my 20's out in Cali or Hawaii. Maybe teach them to surf and give them the life I wanted.

Endless Summer 3 ?

See "Step into Liquid" by Dana Brown (Bruce's son). Surfing in unlikely places as Sheboygan Wi, Galveston Tx, West Coast of Ireland, and 100 miles west of San Diego

delenda est Hugo Chavez

In addition to "Step Into Liquid" I also recommend "Riding Giants". These two movies have made me want to try surfing. I might break my back doing it but I'm going to try. :)

I agree with the OP completely. I've never surfed, or even been a big fan of the ocean in general (the beach yes, but the ocean itself no), but this was still a great flick. Good footage is good footage, regardless of whether or not you're a surfer, this is a fun movie...
And like someone else said OP, check out STEP INTO LIQUID. Not as illuminating as the endless summer movies, but still worth a watch, if nothing else than for the amazing exotic locales...

I LURV Step into Liquid. I also think the original endless summer is better too. But it's cool that people who aren't really ocean people can appreciate both films=]

You should learn to surf, you won't regret it;)

I didn't want to hurt you but you're pretty when you cry
