"I'd say a good five hours"

When Lloyd wakes Harry on the road trip and Harry asks how long he's been out, Lloyd forces a yawn and says a good five hours. Forgive me if I'm being dense, but is this line supposed to be comical? I feel like it's supposed to be but I've never noticed anybody laughing or reacting to it when viewing the film, and there isn't much indication one way or another.

The only thing that makes me think it is, is the fact that sleeping soundly for 5 hours in a vehicle seems a bit too long. Either Lloyd was trying to ploy Harry into switching seats, or he was being sincere. On the flip side, Harry did pass out at the 7-Eleven at night and when Lloyd wakes him it's daytime.

Any ideas?

I think it's to show that Lloyd is a hypocrite. At the gas station when he gets in the car and Harry is asleep he says, "Some people just aren't cut out for life on the road." But, Harry had made a remark about being awake for a certain number of hours (I can't remember how many) straight. Then Lloyd takes over and actually wakes Harry up after being asleep for (only) five hours. Lloyd says Harry's not cut out for life on the road, but Harry drives the majority of the trip up until they get the scooter.

It's to illustrate how far they drove in the wrong direction.

All of this, how I interpret it.

Also simply, it's kind of amusing that Lloyd wakes up Harry, accusing him of oversleeping, when he's only had five hours of sleep.
