I'm under the impression that anyone from a cop onward into Federal service. Knows that the hostage is usually killed regardless of following directions especially an impromptu hostage (if you will) who's at the wrong place at the wrong time. The DEA agent should've reported the break-in and risk being killed atleast the rest of the building and surounding authorities would've been in action. But that's my opinion
