Overkill

This could have been a great movie, but overkill was a factor on so many levels.

Sum of the posters act like the Etainers R paying their bills. It ain't that crucial.

I agree, GoldieGirlie. The overkill made the "good guys" unsympathetic. In fact, most of the characters were getting on my nerves one way or another.

By the end, the only character I really liked and felt sorry for was the young lady with the glasses. She was part of the DROP squad and was in the park with the little kids when Fat Money got shot.

I remember back in 94 when Spike Lee was promoting this film and stated that Rusty Cundieff (Fear of a Black Hat, Tales From The Hood & Sprung) was originally approached to direct his film. But I think due to creative differences he opted out last minute. Somehow I think this would have been a better film had he directed it.

R.I.P Heath Ledger & Brad Renfro. Only the good die young.

Yeah, for one thing, the funny parts would have actually made you laugh instead of give a big sigh.

Rusty Cundieff's stuff is usually pretty good.

Agreed. I really began to dislike
the DROP squad guys towards the
end of the film.

I even hated the advertising exec's
sister for getting him into that
position in the first place.

So this is how liberty dies-with thunderous applause?
