Mädchen Amick naked warrants a 6 by itself. Then add in the plot and Spader's performance. Solid 7.5.

I gave it a 6. But maybe I'll go back and kick it up a notch. It wasn't a great movie. The script not great. It's not an "A" movie. But it's pretty good. Clever plot. Unbelievable, but clever.

6/10 sounds about right. Maybe I'm a bit biased in the sense that I happened to watch it right after having seen the hopelessly idiotic Color Of Night, but besides the goofy circus dream sequences and the OTT outrageous finale... and the general lack of any originality... there's nothing overtly wrong with. The dialogue is largely passable and Spader gives a rather strong performance (to a slightly lesser extent, and somewhat surprisingly, same goes for Mädchen Amick... who, additionally, is of course very easy on the eyes). It's also sympathetically low-key and understated most of the time... no relentless cheese or goofy cinematic spasms here. For its kind, it's OK entertainment.
