When did this story take place [SPOILERS I guess]???

I'm so confused here. I am currently reading the book and they keep referring to different flashbacks and it tends to become hard to follow. I'm pretty sure the interrogation takes place in present time (which was 1992/1993 at this time) but what I want to know is when did all the big important stuff happen?
The night of the Eclipse when Dolores killed Joe, I could have sworn it was July 1963 and that Selena was 15. BUT if that were true, that would have made Selena about 45 years old by 1992/1993, which was "present time"! And obviously she was supposed to be in her late 20s, early thirties.
Can someone fill me in? Because this is really getting to me.

In the film, the eclipse takes place in 1975 when Selena is 13 and the present day scenes takes place in 1993.

I think the eclipse was in 1963. In "Gerald's Game", Jessie has some kind of time travel episode where she sees Dolores during the same eclipse, and Dolores sees Jessie.

The film clearly states the eclipse was in 1975 ... ignoring the fact that no eclipse happened IRL in N.America during that time period.

But the film was clear...1975 for the eclipse & death of the abusive father.
