Not a typical Stephen King

Where were the monsters and supernatural hidden dangers?
This was suspenseful but nothing creepy or terrifying.

May I refer you to Stand by Me?

He strays away from the supernatural stuff occasionally. Stand By Me was already mentioned, then you have Shawshank Redemption and Misery. I can't think of too many more as far as movies go..

reply

Thanks for those other movies. I didn't know shawshank was his.

If you note by this list, some (not all) of the most successful and enduring movies made from Stephen King books/stories have not been the supernatural ones.

reply

Yes.

His book collection of four novellas, Full Dark, No Stars is excellent. It's been five years since I've read them, but those stories I still think about quite often.

Would be great to see one, if not all, get turned into a movie.

The Green Mile

The Green Mile
The Green Mile had plenty of supernatural stuff in it. Just sayin'.

Sceret Window, Apt Pupil, and The Shawshank Redemption were also Stephen King stories that were not scarry or supernatural. Hearts in Atlantis was slightly supernatural but not as much as some of his other works
