question (for those who actually read the book and have seen the movie)

What was the point of the book? Is it just a case of vengeance against Sanders by the lady who he wronged? If so that doesn't make much sense, as she harassed many male workers. It doesn't really seem like one of Crichton's works, having the main plot be revenge for being stilted.

It's Crichton pointing out how society fails to see that a man can be sexually harassed by a woman and notes the roles and stereotypes attributed to both genders. It's not a case of Meredith's revenge on Tom, they were setting him up the whole time. In the book, it's even noted that Meredith wasn't really "into it" with him during her attack because she coughed at the high moment.
