Damn I thought he would and how did that kids know at the end what was happening ?

Also, Garvin was probably still pissed at Sanders for almost blowing the merger with his cross-sexual harassment case and exposing Meredeth's incompetence.

1) That might draw more publicity that was unwanted.
2) He was still trying to put a woman high up in the workplace.

In the book, Stephanie tells Tom that she won't be in the job long; she'll be headed to Conley-White as CFO in a year or so. She imagines that Tom would be the one to replace her, once Garvin has had time to cool off,

reply

As I understand it the CFO was actually playing both sides--her kid was the one sending the emails, presumably on her instructions. So it was likely a combination of office politics and the old guy not wanting to promote the guy that almost torpedoed his own career (beause he was complicit in the Malaysia thing).

tom didn't get promoted b/c of his hair. aka the saskatchewan mullet.

"Rue the day?" Who talks like that?

reply

Well, Meredith got the job even with her Mommie Dearest-styled mid-way pump and part buns.

"First you ask if you can be red, knowing that I'm always red."

reply

pump & buns were deemed unconstitutional in 2002.

I was thinking of the immortal words of Socrates, who said, "... I drank what?"

reply

You obviously have no idea what a mullet is.

Stephanie really was the right person. She has more knowledge, and knew things ahead of time. She was the right one....Tom was behind, he was best as the right hand man.
