85 minutes or 80?

I saw (and recorded) a full-screen version from satellite, for some reason it's only 80 minutes long, not 85 as reported by imdb, but I don't know why. Anyone know if there were multiple versions, or maybe it's just because of translating from PAL to NTSC or something?
