I thought it was a very nice movie. the screenplay is a good drama, the scenes are strong, and the film is really watch worthy.

Yeah, is was great to see a naive young woman descend into the decadence of 1940 Paris and debase herself for 'love'.
shareGreat story, romantic settings, beautiful women, etc. Although it's set in Paris, the movie was actually made in Prague. Nevertheless, both cities possess a romantic atmosphere. The garden where Elena and her friends played around was actually the Waldstein Garden although it was portrayed as the Touilleries. The street cafe scenes were shot at the Misenska, but it also looked like Montmartre.

I did go and check out the book it was based on from the local library, and this movie is barely like it at all.
though for once I am not complaining heh, it did get the point of the book across without being too accurate
