The protagonist (or his body double) rows pretty well! I've practiced rowing for more than 13 years and this is one of the few movies where the protagonist knows what it's doing, unlike say, The Skulls where Joshua Jackson was an unlikely varsity stroke: they say he trained weeks for that scene but if you look closely enough you can see his technique is horrible...
