Similar films with this oddly surreal feeling.

Hey I just wanted to see what everyone else might know that's out there.

Specifically movies with a surreal feel to them like this, the two main things that come to mind are David Lynch movies and the Cremaster films, hell even something along the lines of Joe vs. the Volcano that's oddly surreal without the creepy horror vibe(though that's stretching it).

I'm just looking for something new I guess.

I was told by a friend that Cemetery Man and Silent Hill share very similar atmosphere and "dreamlike" qualities

Just watched this, loved it! The ending and the visual stylings reminded me very much of The Holy Mountain (the Jodorowsky one)

"Life is funny, but not ha ha funny"

Having just seen it last night I don't think Silent Hill was the right comparison, I can't make the connection. Really the only movie I could think of finding it parallel to in spirit was American Psycho, because of its scope and its sense of dark humor...and there's a scene towards the end of both movies that is very similar, and a tonal shift that occurs after that scene from dark comedy to a kind of existential human drama. The byronic main characters share some similar issues. Now that I think of it, there are a lot of little subtleties that tie the two together.

*SPOILERS FOR BOTH MOVIES*

Both have the main character confessing in desparation to murders, and the people they confess to don't get the message. Neither movie really has a happy conclusion, they just kind of end with a quiet revelation.

I found The Orphanage to leave me with an uneasy, "What is the REAL story here" feeling, which is what was most prominent with Cemetery Man. Cemetery Man sticks in my head because of how interpretable it is, and how much discussion it creates whenever I show friends. The Orphanage is marvelous in plot and execution.

Another Guillermo Del Torro film with a different atmosphere, but similar interpretability is Pan's Labyrinth.

Ichi the Killer, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, Lady Vengeance, and Oldboy are films from the far east with a good deal of surrealism.

The Machinist, and Let the Right One In, too.

For one reason or another, if you liked Cemetery Man, you might like these mentioned above.

First thing I thought of was Lady Vengeance, Old Boy (both Korea I think). But someone mentioned the "Happiness of the Kamatzo's" (Japanese). Happiness is the dreamy one of them all and it is horror musical to boot!

I kept being reminded of Man Bites Dog when watching Dellamorte for the first time in awhile last night, so check that out.

Um...happiness of the KAMATZO'S??????? WTF! It's KATAKURI'S!
