The first Darkman is a terrific comic book movie. Sam Raimi proved he knew what he was doing. They wouldn't let him make The Shadow, so he went and created his own comic book hero and made a Big Screen comic book which still ranks as one of the best.

Then they gave The Shadow to Russell Mulcahy and it was one of the worst movies of 1994.

Go figure.

The Darkman sequels are ... Bad films.

That's all I need or care to say about them.

I think darkman movie is great,
went I watch it, everytime I wanna cry.
It's quite sad, he had giving up on his girl.
Why everytime the hero, always giving up for their girl,
just to make her happy, but what about his feelings for her?
Did he ever feel pain, angry or sad of losing her?

I saw Darkman when I was six and thought that it was the greatest movie ever made... I loved the violence, the romance, all of that stuff. When number 2 and 3 came along I thought they were good just because I liked the first one, but actually the two sequals are quite bad.
If you would notice, they used some scenes from the original in the sequals. Like at the beginning, they even left in the close-up of Peyton's eyes and you can really tell that his eyes are light blue - not brown. And they used the same scene when he got mad, too. The new actor has a accent and I don't think that he could even sound like the men he was imatating... Julie should have been in the movies, at least have Peyton think about how much he misses her. It's just not right... Did anyone else notice that Peyton was giving up on trying to create a face for himself at the end? He said that he changed inside as well as out and he couldn't be the way he once was, even with a mask.
What's up?

I couldn't find the movies for rental except for a spanish version...which was a little weird since I only know a little of high school spanish.
Overall I did like the presence of Arnold Vosloo more than Liam Neeson (though he was good too) and I found his whole wanting-a-family thing to be good. I think the sequels (from what I could piece together) seemed to be more of a growth with Peyton's character. Though I did notice that he was more laid back than the first movie but that could be because he was more used to his mood swings.

I'm still trying to find the movies in English but I still hope another movie gets made. I would have liked there to be another movie that pretty much makes everything better again...perfecting the skin, using it on himself, getting his feeling back...basically a happily ever after scenario. But that might not go along with the style of the series.

Personally I do not mind the 2 sequels to the original Darkman movie. I own all 3 Darkman movies on DVD. Good stuff.

Darkman is a classic movie. Very creative and imaginiative. Darkman 2 was a decent sequel. When i hired it at the local video store i didn't expect much, but i got a lot more out of it then i was expecting.

2 and 3 rnt that bad, but they rnt the best. i was really weirded out at the character of darkman, perhaps he went crazy, perhaps he need medication, i dont know.

i liked the end of DM3, when he shows the gal his face, i cried during that scene
darkman 2 was pretty good, i jus hated that dang remote control mouse! it was so friggin anoying!

my favorite is DM1, tho DM2 is fair

I enjoyed all three of them. I somewhat enjoyed Vosloo as Peyton a little better than Neeson although Neeson done a great job. Larry Drake was great as Durant in both films. The Darkman movies were very good.

I loved the original "Darkman" with Liam Neeson. I have no intention of watching the later two sequels starring Arnold Vosloo. He was a terrible Peyton Westlake.
