Maxon and that cloth?

What was up with that long coil of cloth that Maxon seemed to be swallowing? Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

I don't know if I misheard this or not, but it seemed like he said he would swallow it and then eat it again after it came out three days later. (Or it would take three days for it all to come out.) Not sure why, maybe for punishment?

I hope that's not what he said.

You can look it up. IT's called vastra dhauti and is a yogic internal cleansing process.

There's one cleansing process where you stick the cord in your mouth and swallow and swallow and swallow until it comes out the other end -- but it's a long cord so it's still going in at the other end.

Then there's another where you stick a cord in your nose and shove and shove until the other end comes out your mouth.

Then of course there's sitting on the bed of nails.
