I was wondering something about this movie. I taped it years ago and I don't know if the TV channel really showed the whole beginning of the movie.
The first thing that starts to show are the main titles. And then it says something like "Two months later". The next thing I see are Donal Logue and his wife pulling up to Viggo's car at the harbour.
And I also never saw Ray Wise or Grace Zabriske in the movie, but I think I can guess who they would play (I shouldn't say if you haven't seen the movie yet). Is there a big portion I didn't get to see? This really frustrates me.
I just now watched the movie, and am sure it was as released at the theatres. I also caught the 2 months later message at start of movie, and that occurred right after the credits, followed by pulling up to Viggo's car. I think the message was a typo - should have been "earlier".
About Ray Wise not being shown, I rewatched to find a character named Charley, but never was able to find it.
But since both Ray Wise and Grace Zabriske are not shown as far as I can see and the first two months "are missing" it has to be part missing in the beginning.
And do you remember how some of the people on the boat talk about Donal Logues character's mother killing herself (I think) or something like that. "How is your dad handeling it?" - I think Viggo asks Donal Logue. Ray Wise and Grace Zabriske must have played Donal Logue's parents, according to their last names in the list of characters.
The pre-title sequence is an elaborate dinner sequence in a posh Los Angeles, California residence, with all the characters being present.
Without watching that part6, you will NOT get the ensuing movie that follows. But with that app. 10 minute intense opening sequence, it makes perfect sense.
So.... we start in Los Angeles, Calif. and then we jump to 2-months later in Miami, Florida.
Have they really released this thing with the beginning of the movie missing?
I have the whole movie as well. In the very beginning, Ray Wise is giving Grace Z. a hard time because her character has a drinking problem. Donal Logue and Pamela Gidley are in these scenes. I have no idea why Cineville/Artisan/Lions Gate released this film with this sequence missing.
Also I hate how the users are still giving this great movie such bad reviews!!! I don't understand them.
