Overlooked, lovely film

I for one loved it, on the first viewing and even more on the second. Sam Neill is extremely attrative here as the doctor....and the story transferred to the Australian bush works surprisingly well. Can't find a thing to dislike, so....see it!

I agree totally. As an Aussie I have to say it is one of my favourite films EVER: it evokes that unique feeling of isolation and irreverence that featured in Australia in those long-ago times. John Hargreaves (Uncle Jack) was a WONDERFUL Aussie actor; sad that he is no longer with us. A top cast playing great, eccentric characters. A REAL GEM of a movie.

A delightful film indeed.

I caught this film on cable yesterday but didn't get to see the end. The last scene I saw was Uncle Jack catching Deborah and Dr. Max kissing in the house. Can anyone tell me how the film ends? Thanks so much!

Don't be ridiculous! Jack would never die without telling me!
